Hi Jill,
Forgive me if this is a silly way to write you back–I’m kind of a neophyte when it comes to the best way to reply to comments on blogs.
I wanted to thank you for your appreciation of my plea to get over ourselves, and also to come clean.
This week I have been struggling so much with frustration, alienation, and resentment that I’d almost forgotten I written that entry. When BlogSpot notified me about your comment, I went back and read it again, and remembered what I was trying so hard to create for myself.
I should probably read it every day, to remind myself of the things I know, but that I sometimes forget, of the things that seem so simple, but which so often feel unnatural and difficult to me.
Your comment couldn’t have been more timely. Thank you so much for taking the time to connect.
I need you to know that tonight, we had a wonderful dinner together–laughing and sharing, teasing and joking. Your comment was a catalyst to an alleviation of tension in our home that was much, much appreciated.
Thank you again.
Hi Aunt Pillowhead, this is a sweet and wonderful way of writing back! Thank you, and thanks for letting me know that my comment helped. Your post helped me — it helped me understand more about what the kids’ perspective might be like.
He pops up in odd places at my house too…
He looks so natural standing there.
