I added just a tiny, tiny bit of fill light (using Picasa) to the picture, but hardly any. Other than that, I didn’t alter the picture. The leaf really did look light and other-worldly in the back yard and I just snapped a picture using the macro lens on my point-and-shoot camera. (Well, actually, I snapped probably about twenty, and picked the best one.) The backs of these leaves are particularly pale, and the light in the back yard is filtered through our big, big trees.
