Was it horribly time-consuming? Decades ago, I gave my (long-deceased) Italian grandmother a pasta-maker that looked similar to the one in your sidebar…I don’t think she ever used it.
Nope! It’s no where near as intimidating as it might sound. It’s just cooking — like baking a cake or muffins or soup. It’s about that time consuming. So if you like cooking, it’s very much worth doing. I probably make about half the pasta we eat from scratch, just because it’s pleasurable to make and it tastes SO GOOD. It took me a couple of tries before I felt comfortable with it, but even the first batch I made was so much more delicious than pasta from the store. (Which we still eat, too. Because pasta = yum.)
wow! home-made pasta…you must be a good cook. I do all the cooking but never tried to make my own pasta…congratulations!
