Absolutely spectacular crumb! Brava!! Isn’t it the best feeling to take a loaf out and find that it has sprung beautifully? And then you get to eat it! The bowtie pasta also looks like a professional production. To my mind, food is as important a sensuous pleasure as art and music. People who don’t take it seriously are missing a lot.

You really shouldn’t be afraid of yogurt, and you don’t need a yogurt maker, either, just a small cooler and two bottles of hot water. Let me know if you want more details.

I found your blog while browsing the internet looking for cool stuff in Pasadena. We’re moving there next week (from downtown LA). Wow! You are an inspiration to young housewives everywhere. Love your photography too. I just spent some time viewing and reading most of your posts. I can’t believe you make your own pasta..and bread without a bread machine. You’re amazing.
